Trinity's Prayer chain was started about 30 years ago by the Deacons--this was pre-internet. Initially it was a phone chain, with a fairly detailed set of rules of to try to ensure that requests moved quickly through the chain, while also preserving the privacy of those who asked for prayer . . .

Nowadays, it's a simple e-mail group-- prayer requests come in to the Prayer Chain coordinator and are sent out by her to the group.  Members of the prayer chain then pray at whatever time and in whatever way works for them. Sometimes we get updates on what has happened with folks we are praying for. it is definitely an important ministry within the congregation, a comfort for folks to know they can ask for prayer in this way, and is a meaningful  expression of faith for those are part of it..
