Trinity’s Church Statement

God calls us to love and respect all people; in them we see God’s image and our own reflection. Together we seek forgiveness as we grow in love of God and each other, a love and forgiveness made possible and freely offered by Jesus Christ. We celebrate this love as a community through worship and music, outreach and mission, affirming and sharing the gifts and talents with which the Spirit has blessed each and every one of us. We welcome you as we seek to do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with God together.

Trinity’s Theological Statement

Trinity Presbyterian Church seeks to live into the faith described by Micah 6:8: “Do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God.”

We believe that God is the creator and the source of all things. God is with us always and is love in all of its manifestation.

We witness the love of God primarily in Jesus Christ and experience God today through enduring witness of the Holy Spirit, who is always with us, strengthening and empowering us to live our faith. Faith is experienced as trusting in God’s promises in our life and basing our life on them. Through Jesus of Nazareth, God became flesh and dwelt among us, (John 1:14). In Jesus, the fullness of justice, kindness, and presence of God were expressed; his commitment to this continued even when it meant his death on the cross.

But death is not the final word. God raised Jesus to life. Through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we know that life, justice, and God’s loving kindness will always prevail, even beyond the earthly life we know.

We are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8). Grace means God extends salvation to us freely though Jesus Christ. We do not earn it. Salvation begins in this life and continues to grow into the eternity of God.

We are chosen by God for both salvation and service.

Accepting Jesus Christ means to live as his disciple. Living as a disciple of Jesus Christ means to receive him as the manifestation of God on earth, and therefore to follow the Great Commandment, “You shall love the Lord God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength…” and “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” (Mark 12:29-31).

Statement on Mission

In our ministry we respond with agility to the needs of people in our congregation, in our community, and around the world. Our deacons and our mission committee lead this response by guiding the congregation’s offerings of work, money, other donations, and prayer lead. People are encouraged to follow God’s call to mission in their individual lives as well as through the church.

Educational Ministry

At Trinity Presbyterian Church we seek to provide a loving, caring, and positive place for children and youth to explore their faith in God and express themselves, while being guided by the church community through their spiritual walk based on Scripture, community service and fellowship.
