       *RESPONSE          (VS.5)              “DE LA PAZ”
De la Paz of peace I dream this dream
That shalom will one day live in me
When the blindness in my soul at least is healed
An in captive’s eyes the Christ I’ll see.  I’ll see.

CALL TO WORSHIP
We all need to belong.  Christ has broken down all barriers; we are all as one in Christ Jesus.
How good it is and how lovely it feels when sisters and brothers can live together in unity.

*HYMN (TMB)                                             “DOWN TO THE RIVER”

PRAYER OF CONFESSION
With you, loving God, is the beauty that shows up the flaws in us, with you is the goodness of
which we fall to short.  Yet also with you is the love that embraces us, that Christ-grace that welcomes
common sinners and eats with them.  Many are the times we have turned our back to you, but never
has there been a time when you have turned your back to us.
Today we come again, some of us feeling guilty, some feeling frustrated with ourselves, some
feeling despondent, and maybe some feeling apathetic.
               Enfold us all, we pray, within your saving grace.  Please deal with us in the way we most need;
speak comfortable words or rebuke us, tend our wounds or lance our infections, awaken our
conscience or calm our nagging anxiety.
Holy friend, give to the timid the courage to accept your mercy, and give the proud the humility
to seek your forgiveness.
Please touch every person with the redeeming grace of Christ Jesus.  In whose name we
pray.  Amen.

PROMISE OF GOD
LEADER:   Friends, believe the Good News…
PEOPLE: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven.

PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
God of all creation, your beauty and your blessings are visible not only in your wide, sweeping
plains, and unique land forms, but also wherever people gather to worship you.  We, who gather here in
this time and this place, come, grateful for all your blessings towards us.  We praise you for linking our
lives with yours through the gift of your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ.  In and through him we have been
blessed and empowered by the Holy Spirit to bring your dreams of a just and peaceful world to reality.
A world where the barriers which separate people from you and from one another are peacefully and
willingly broken down forever.  This we pray in Jesus’ name.  Amen.

Announcements  August 17, 2008

Throughout the summer, Trinity will host a Service of Healing and Wholeness on the last Wednesday of the month at 6:30pm.
The next is on August 27th.

We’ll be serving
SICM Summer Lunch during the week of August 18-22.  See Cheryl DiGiloramo or Pat Wheeler if you’d like to help.  The time
frame for each day is 12:15 to 2:00.

The
Scrapbooking Group will meet again August 22nd starting at 5pm. There will be no meeting in July.

Trinity's Prayer Chain is a form of ministry in which members pray for concerns brought to their attention in the form of a telephone chain.  If
you have concerns to place on the prayer chain, please contact Carole Palmer or Kathy Gorman-Coombs.

The suggested June donation for the SICM Food Pantry is dry mixes, tuna helper, potato dishes, and noodle mixes.   As always, baby
formula (Enfamil with Iron) and baby cereal are needed.  If you wish to donate something else or make a monetary gift to purchase foods
from the Regional Food Bank it will, also be greatly appreciated.
